We believe that you can't teach what you can't do. That being
said, all of our instructors have trained with us and have exhibited a love for karate, teaching others, and the ability to
help others become successful.
Shihan Randy Thompson has been training in the martial arts since he was a young child and currently
holds a fifth degree Black Belt in Sukunaihyashi Shorin Ryu (Traditional Okinawan Karate) and is sanctioned and
internationally recognized by the IOSSKA in Okinawa. His 35 plus years in the martial arts have proven to him that
they are beneficial for young and old alike and he strives to give every student who walks through the dojo doors a great
experience. He acts as the lead instructor for both the traditional karate classes and the weapons training. Under his leadership,
our students have competed all the way to the national level and won. He himself has competed internationally, and while tournament
competitions are not the focus of the training, he strives to make these opportunities available to students who are interested
and capable. Unlike some other schools across the nation, Shihan Randy believes in sharing the training floor with his
students and can be seen actively participating in most classes.
Sensei Liese Thompson has been training in the martial arts for over twenty years.
Having begun her training as an adult, she understands the dedication and struggles that our older students may face and is
always available with a word of encouragement. Under her guidance, a successful preschool program was developed that allows
students as young as 3 to begin their journey and see the benefits of a structured class designed to introduce the martial
arts and traditional karate.
A variety of other advanced
students work with our classes each week. Not only do they get an opportunity to pass along what they've learned, they get
to experience true leadership and advance their abilities by teaching others. All instructors have first proven themselves
to be dedicated students of our school, and have demonstrated a knowledge of the techniques and priniciples of our martial
